ELECTROCARDIOGRAM
DEFINITION
This is an electrocardiogram or a tracing of the electrical impulses from the heart from the heart. Some people with heart disease have abnormalities that are easily detected by the electrocardiogram. This is a standard component of the following examinations; Initial HazMat and Initial ERT (Emergency Response Team) and Executive examinations. These are not necessary to have done each year. Police candidates are required to have an EKG or a treadmill exam.
